नई दिल्ली। कोरोना टीकों पर माल एवं सेवा कर (जीएसटी) की पूरी छूट देने की मांग पर सफाई देते हुए केंद्रीय वित्त मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण ने रविवार को कहा कि पूरी छूट से आम लोगों पर असर पड़ेगा क्योकि वैक्सीन की कीमतें बढ़ जाएंगी। पीएम को लिखे गए पश्चिम बंगाल की मुख्यमंत्री ममता बनर्जी के एक पत्र का जवाब देते हुए, जिसमें ममता ने स्वास्थ्य ढांचे में सुधार के लिए समर्थन की मांग करने के साथ-साथ जीवन रक्षक दवाओं और उपकरणों से जीएसटी और सीमा शुल्क हटाने की मांग की है, के जवाब में सीतारमण ने कहा कि अगर जीएसटी में छूट दी जाती है तो टीका निर्माता इनपुट टैक्स क्रेडिट के लाभार्थी नहीं होंगे। यदि जीएसटी में छूट है।
वित्त मंत्री का विचार है कि वैक्सीन के घरेलू निर्माता के हित में और नागरिकों के हित में 5 प्रतिशत जीएसटी यथोचित है।
वित्त मंत्री ने कहा, अगर जीएसटी से पूर्ण छूट दी जाती है, तो वैक्सीन निर्माता अपने इनपुट करों की भरपाई नहीं कर पाएंगे और मूल्य में वृद्धि करेंगे, जिससे इसका सीधा असर आम लोगों पर पड़ेगा।
मंत्री ने कहा कि कोविड ड्रग्स और ऑक्सीजन कंसंट्रेटर्स पर लगने वाले टीके पर जीएसटी की दर 5 प्रतिशत से 12 प्रतिशत तक है और इन वस्तुओं के घरेलू आयात और वाणिज्यिक आयात पर लागू है।
