मुंबई । भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक (आरबीआई) ने नियामक अनुपालन में कमियों के लिए एचडीएफसी बैंक लिमिटेड पर 10 करोड़ रुपये का जुर्माना लगाया है। केंद्रीय बैंक ने बताया कि बैंकिंग विनियमन अधिनियम 1949 की धारा 6 (2) और धारा 8 के प्रावधानों के उल्लंघन के चलते एचडीएफसी बैंक पर यह जुर्माना लगाया गया है।
आरबीआई ने एक बयान में कहा कि यह कार्रवाई नियामक अनुपालन में कमियों पर आधारित है और बैंक द्वारा अपने ग्राहकों के साथ किए गए किसी भी लेनदेन या समझौते की वैधता से संबंधित नहीं है।
रिजर्व बैंक ने बयान जारी करते हुए कहा कि बैंक के ऑटो ऋण पोर्टफोलियो के संबंध में कई व्हिसलब्लोअर शिकायत पाई गई और इसकी जांच की गई तो कई अनियमितताएं पाई गईं।
इस संबंध में पहले बैंक को नोटिस जारी कर यह सलाह दी गई थी कि वह कारण बताए कि क्यों न अधिनियम के प्रावधानों/निदेशरें के उल्लंघन के लिए उस पर जुर्माना ठोंका जाए।
कारण बताओ नोटिस के बैंक के जवाब पर विचार करने के बाद, व्यक्तिगत सुनवाई के दौरान किए गए मौखिक प्रस्तुतीकरण और बैंक द्वारा प्रस्तुत किए गए आगे के स्पष्टीकरणों और दस्तावेजों की जांच के बाद, आरबीआई इस निष्कर्ष पर पहुंचा कि अधिनियम के प्रावधानों के उल्लंघन का उपरोक्त आरोप प्रमाणित है और बैंक पर मौद्रिक दंड लगाया जाना चाहिए।
